From a contact centre perspective, securing the Census contract with Statistics New Zealand is as big as any job you will get in New Zealand.
On Census Day, we received approximately 40,000 calls and 6,000 emails and went to extraordinary lengths to provide outstanding customer service to everyday Kiwis. In 2013, we hired a hotel ballroom to accommodate the additional 200 agents needed for the purpose of working in the three days leading up to and after Census.
This was all done while our staff back at our Auckland office remained focused on our existing clients. We were enormously proud of our team who managed to yet again deliver an outstanding result for Census.
